The first in his family to attend college, David M. Serafin is a Dean's List graduate of Albion College.

After completing his undergraduate studies, David obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the Valparaiso University School of Law, where he served both on the Editorial Board for the Valparaiso University Law Review and as a member of the Valparaiso University Moot Court Honor Society.

David began his professional career by practicing for over seven years in the areas of criminal law and family law where he obtained extensive litigation and trial experience. Thereafter, David obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation degree from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, Graduate Tax Program, graduating near the top of his class with an 'A' grade point average.

In order to further develop his legal career, David moved to Washington, DC where he worked for a law firm which concentrates in the areas of Estate Planning, Probate and Estate Administration, and Business Planning. During this time, David also had the opportunity to regularly volunteer for both one of the largest food kitchens in the United States and an international human rights organization, where he also served on an ad hoc finance committee. After refining his legal expertise in the nation's capital, David then returned home to Colorado so that he could start his own law practice.

David enjoys the intellectual stimulation of the tax issues involved in areas such as Estate Planning and Business Planning as there are frequently new developments which require keeping up-to-date. He is also able use his unique tax credentials to his clients' advantage in situations affecting those who are accused of tax-related crimes as well as with divorced clients, particularly in the allocation of spousal support, personal property, real property, and retirement benefits. David also has the knowledge and experience to plan for his clients' financial futures and assist with any legal dilemmas related to Tax Law, Estate Planning and Probate Administration, Asset Protection, and Bankruptcy.

When not working, David enjoys skiing and snowboarding, mountain biking, and hiking with his wife, Wendy, and their two rambunctious dogs.
